A beautiful quad set of tested, matched genuine, MADE IN USA, during late 1950's to early 60's era.... boxed, original Tung-Sol 6L6GC power tubes. Documentation shown in photos is included.
Study all of the photos below and view test reports. These are the ultra sought after originals, now over 50 years old! ... Most fanatical collectors...and fans of vintage 6L6GC agree that Tung Sol originals are quite scarce. A matched quad is exceedingly uncommon. These will sell quickly, and it the only matched set I've seen. The solid, grey ribbed 38mm tall, 6 hole plates, with 3 getters, identify these uncommon tubes. (This 3rd getter is somewhat unusual amongst 6L6GC internals). They have super thick, ultra SHINNY mirror flashing -- with early white ink bases, Close (see exhibit A,C,D) DATE CODES , all from the early 60's (see reports below, exhibit F) .
They present beautifully, and all (4) sound great.

They are not "reissue" types -- Reissue's using the Tung Sol name have nothing to do with american 1960's original types (the new types, you'll see them here on eBAy, are in new boxes and labeled "6L6GC STR" to appeal to guitar guys).
Beautiful, OEM Tung Sol examples are seldom found in this condition -- probably the prettiest and most throughly tested set anywhere online. The included tests indicate very strong performance and super long projected life -- these units are NOS. These are stunning, surviving spares from aa estate of 1950's HiFi, long stored in original boxes (some stains and a torn flap as the boxes are very old).
When I listened to this set, they sounded really wonderful -- and very powerful, steely and detailed ---- These are guaranteed NO DOA. They'll provide the tone and stellar lifespan you can rely only on very old Tung-Sol's for.
If you are currently using modern reproductions, no matter the treatment or brand .... these are magnetudes better. If you're a tube audiophile, or instrument player, swithing to vintage tubes is one of the easiest and most rewarding things you can do. 1950s/60s USA tubes are the best in the world for high power uses -- your amp and your ears will thank you.
This is a completely ip & GM Transconductance (see Reports in exhibit A,B, & F) MATCHED, original 50-60 year old QUAD set. Cosmetics, boxes, production date codes (all matched) & audio performance ... everything's incredibly CLOSE.
The best QUAD you will see for a very long time -- if you want perfect, jump on them as they'll sell quickly.

If you're viewing these 1960's USA originals, then I'm sure your aware that modern re-issues are not made in the USA and are only copies from the eastern-bloc Europe (or Russia).
These units, are actual original production... dating from the late 50s and ending before the mid part of the 1960s decade. The distinctive tall 6-hole plate, three getter, and FULL chrome side flashing construction give these very EARLY 1960's date of production. Tung-Sol designed tubes like no other -- coming out of WWII they quickly took the lead in the USA designing some of the most rugged, post war beam pentodes for high power HiFi. Their most notable successes were the 5881 and the 6550 -- they dominated these numbers. You don't see Tung Sol 6L6GC's -- they're very rare in comparison!
The inked 322 code Tung Sol 6L6GC is exceedingly rare. Tung Sol was a most fanatical lab centric developer & builder of tubes here in the USA. Their peak of quality came just before the Transistor put them under sometime in the 1970s. With the tube era over, the new fastfood electronics era left no room for laboratory tweaked, over-built quality! Tung Sol tube's had a reputation in HiFi of amazing sound, consistency and a rugged LONG life.
Whether Tung-Sol made these in-house, using RCA designed parts -- in the construction of these 6L6GC's -- or just tightly supervised the construction is unkown -- to my knowledge even myoptic collectors can't say. What is apparent in these is they are very SPECIAL and nice tubes.... they have unusually strong looking grey-plates with a 3rd extra side getter (allot reminiscent of the 6550 actually), and a ton of chome flashing!
No doubt here these are VERY RARE and loaded with lots of quality, care in construction
And, unlike lots of other cold-war design output tubes ..... these were made intentionally for 1950's HiFi, high power audio reproduction = better bass and lots of throaty midrange, and very defined highs.
Audiophiles have known for a long time that earliest possible 6L6GC types are the ones to own. The original production will outlast and outperform, and of course sound better than typical slipshod re-issues or reproductions of any similar design.
These now antique tubes were made to the highest 1950's US quality standards .... and Tung-Sol's have a wonderfuly accurate sound quality, with amazing resolution & powerful bass control -- a signature of the high power pentodes. The 6L6GC incarnation was part of the twilight ... the last harrah of powerful pentodes! Tung Sol, at the time an old world industry giant. And was an artisian company when it came to tubes! Really they were a laboratory engaged in produciton --- really next to Western Electric in quality control and ethics! Located in New Jersey, and they did not survive in the tube audio business much beyond the 1960s era ... they lost out to industry giants as the solid state era ushered in -- destroying the market for perfect tubes! (They're excellent transistors didn't sell well.)
These hefy beauties were carefully stored for years in old boxes.(boxes have some tears -- they're very old!)
Verified ... No noise, great function, in circuit. NO SHORTS, all units checked perfect beyond 2 megohms in Jackson machine. ) Tests made in multiple calibrated testers, MATCHING done on a calibrated lab tester.
Again, these are NOS survivor spares, they're like new in old boxes,. As the shinny & thick flashing on all sides indicate. See photos. The gorgeous etched glass, bakelite, white ink bases are tight . The cosmetics of these tubes are outstanding!
