 Western Electric 274A rectifier, genuine from an estate, and dating from between 1939 - 1943 ... this is a verified low hours, very strong, no shorts and great sounding tube (see Exhibit B,C,D,E) in WE box & packing ... with the engraved base,. Study all of the photos below and view test reports. This is an ultra sought after all original WECO tube, with the lower side, slipt double -"D" getter, and top wire spring supported filiament, and 45 mm tall black plates !  At around 72 years old ..... this is  definately the real McCoy. It tests strong on both calibrated testers ... the TV7 it measures 50/54  (min is 40 which = 65% remaining). The Jackson, which usues full voltage, a realtime percentage, and at full load ... it reads 115%/115% (min = 70%) -- So, a very strong, NICE tube....and Guaranteed NO DOA, NO SHORTS.  Both testers indicate a  nicely matched tube with EXCELLENT projected life. Will provide the sound and extended lifespan you can rely only on very old WECO tubes for.   Double D getter tubes, with engraved base was only made in the very early 40's  --- only before WWII begain, making this era of refined 274A an excellent choice.. agreed upon by expert collectors & listeners to be the best era for top quality. Western Electric tubes like this will outlast and sound much more detailed many of their similarly designed counterparts  (like mil spec 5Z3 / 5u4G) ... will upgrade your rectifier audio quality results with improved  resolution & musicality.... as noted by many advanced listeners in Asia/USA.

The original Western Electric box, from the 1930/40s's is fragile, missing a flap, but still very intact with original excelsior padding. (shows some wear/stains normal from storage). Very nice to have ... original with tube!  

  NO SHORTS, both plates checked perfect on TCV >> NO SHORTS >2meg in Jackson machine. )  The beautiful ETCHED / ENGRAVED 274A  base is tight, no cracks and the flashing is thick, showing some normal darkening and still very thick. The clarity of glass indicates gentle use and a long life ahead..no browning or dark spots.
