Offered here is one, (1 single piece)  H. H. Scott 121-C preamp, perfect for a wonderful mono LP / 78 system.  Or find/ add on a second 121 later and for the ultimate in per-channel control, EQ and Scott's unique Dynaural clarifier for each channel!

It powers on and works (watch video below) -- and please read further & view all exhibit photos.

From the burgeoning days of HiFi -- this was one of HH Scott's earliest hifi centric preamp products. Very contemporaneous and comparable to the McIntosh C-8 or the Fisher-80C or of course, the now priceless Marantz Model 1. The Scott 121 series actually predates quite a few other options available to the collector. These beautiful sounding and extremely versatile preamps are just what's needed if you listen to classic Vinyl or even older 78s (this in fact is your best choice for 78's). The selections for record EQ  & noise filters are unsurpassed on these models for old record & tape formats. You also get a killer smooth cathode follower circuit and tons of inputs for your hopefully all tube single ended, PP, or vintage Williamson amp / horn driver system!

This is a very rare bird. Looks to be entirely original. Few if any flaws, SO NICE.  Study Exhibit (H) which shows the original factory's INSPECTION, dated 1959. Also, note all of those gourgeous original Sprague Bumble-bee caps (Exhibit (G) (known for their excellent sound, found in Marantz 1's & McIntosh amps of the 1950s also).

I gave it a 30 minute brief bench test, it was brought up slowly on a current monitored variac. All seems to operate as normal and the preamp sounds great, and was suprisingly low noise, even at max settings. It's old, so please expect the occasional scratching from the 1950s original controls; with use or cleaning these problems vanish.  Power transformer was cool, and the controls I tried leaped to action in clarity (did not test all functions or switches).

I enjoyed listening to this preamp so much....and didn't want to turn it off!

It's so refreshing to see an original piece such nice condition. Preamp is sold as powering on condition and fully functional, cool running transformers; All components all original, working and as-is.

Sounds great, be sure to listen to test video. You will be able to tell how killer it sounds!

A vintage tube preamp like this can improve any system signifcantly. Especially if you listen to LP's. This would be the foundation to an amazing MONO 78RPM system.

See this actual preamp playing in video below:  just now bench tested -- tested & matched  tubes, and all are playing very well.

Will be sell fairly quickly, lots of international interest.  Very quiet at first power up.

As always, even thought this original preamp works well (see video) -- plan on work and maintenance , and don't change out anything you don't have to.

Beautiful sound right now. Lots of inputs, controls, EQ's and great LP / 78 filters!

Listen now to this (1) Scott 121-B model, from about 1955/56 loaded with vintage NOS Tungsram 17mm & Matshushita 12aX7 & 12Au7 tubes.

Source in this case is 16bit CD player, and a 300B SE amplifier, feeding a single MONO speaker, a Yamaha NS-10 type monitor.

Yes..Great for collectors; and listeners. This is a solid, scarce piece of HiFi quality, well worth your time. Used gently, with gradual maintenance and a watchful eye, it will likely be your best preamp!  Amazing, detailed sound, and MINT all original condition.  Conservatively designed and skillfully constructed, writes Scott -- very true of this era. Scott was one of the few companies that usually wound transformers in house, and used more expensive & strong aluminum chassis.  This preamp, as you can see --  presents beautifully, and will look handsome in any home.  ... it will glimmer further with just a small amount of detailing.   Face plate cosmetics are ALMOST perfect. NEAR MINT.   One knob has slight anodizing wear, very minor.  Please study exhibit B & C.

Loaded up with all NOS, matched vintage 17mm Tungsram & 15mm Matshushita tubes.

This a great opportunity to score an exceedingly rare, HH Scott preamp -- with all the inputs / controls you'll ever need for one MONO channel. I consistently recommend early preamps from the 1950s for the ever increasing number of schooled audiophiles, now moving back to Vinyl and wanting a MONO horn system.

Buy now to avoid missing this MINT unit. Not easy to find --  it will sell soon.

This may be the only H H Scott 121 you’ll see on eBay or anywhere else; in such nice shape, for a very, long time — so this will likely sell quickly.   Packed weight in a double box will be 16lbs.   Always top quality, double box packing. See our 100% happy customer's feedback for vintage audio.

OVERSEAS OK, via USPS EMS Express Mail  (or for Canada & select countries, Intl. USPS Priority)

Succesful purchaser, can also inquire about a matching HH Scott 121 WOOD CASE (not included in this sale).
