A nice, working great (no leaks, Low ESR) Western electric 315B original 1940s condenser capacitor. All original from early, nos 1940s Bell system tube equipment. This capacitor tested perfect on high-voltage Sencore LC 103 capacitor tester.
Please see reports in photo for full test. Very rare configuration and very useful for tube preamplifier & amplifier builders, DIY 100% vintage WECO. This condensor is it’s own sealed four (4pcs) multi-section .5uf, so each unit same as (4) .5uf Western Electric oil caps /each ! The very height of Western Electric quality. This type is of the very sought after sealed Hook end ... sealed oil capacitor. They were tested at real in-circuit high voltage (400V) and were found to be excellent with near perfect rated capacities 4x .5uf @ high 400 V and NO LEAKAGE and low under 1 ohm ESR on each unit's section (see reports below).
After many years of storage, the grey paint has given way some, worn thin & many scratches and light surface rust -- no dents or leaks -- solid good condition metal. Still, all working well ... no dents or leaks .…fully inspected. And, does have original WE Decal. Very old …so you know it's indeed the Real McCoy — famously durable at high Volts — and they have the wonderful, detailed sound all hobbyists want — these are 1940s fische paper / oil WE caps — same always used in WECO equipment and tube amps 1930s - 1960s. They will be carefully packed in double box with original Western electric hardware / mounting nuts & washers included.
All sections test excellent (see photo below) and good capacity & no leaks.
